6 Alaska Cruise Vacation Secrets to Make Your Alaskan Cruise Tours Wonderful

Getting ready to take an Alaska cruise vacation? Maybe you’re even taking an Alaskan honeymoon. Are you used to cruising in warm waters?

What you’re going to need for your time aboard ship and for when you go ashore is different than what you’re used to taking. We’ll get into it in a minute.

Bring enough film and batteries to capture these kind of images. If you use a digital camera make sure to bring extra memory cards.

On Alaskan cruise tours you’ll be seeing once-in-a-lifetime images and you don’t want to miss any pictures because you ran out of film, power or memory.

A lot of the wildlife will also be off in the distance and will be difficult to see with the naked eye.

So…

Get the best pair of binoculars that you can afford. Try to get a pair that performs well in low-light situations such as during the false dawn and after the sun sets.

A good pair of binoculars will help you to see images that will be etched in your memory forever.

Be prepared for the weather.

Being dressed right for your Alaskan cruise vacation will make a world of difference.

Most Alaskan cruise packages take place between May and September.

Even during the spring and the fall the temperature can be quite cold. And in the heart of the summer the daytime temperature often hovers in the seventies.

If it’s going to be cold make sure to bring a heavy jacket or coat. Otherwise you’ll be seeing more of the inside of your stateroom than you’ll want just to keep warm.

Consider wearing layers of clothing, just as you would to go on a winter hike. With layers you can take off or add clothing as the temperature rises and falls.

Even though you’re on the ocean, Alaskan air can be rather dry.

Make sure to pack some skin cream and moisturizers to keep your skin from drying out.

Bring lip balm to prevent your lips from cracking.

And especially if you’re on your Alaskan honeymoon you want to keep your lips soft and kissable for those starlit Alaskan nights.
