Shore Excursions - Dubrovnik
Posted on February 29, 2008
The tourist season in Croatia has kicked off with a good start. Over the next couple of months the life on the Adriatic coast becomes one hectic beehive.
Down in the deep south, Dubrovnik becomes an open stage where the rich, the famous, the wannabees mingle together during Dubrovnik Festival and where joy and laughter can be heard at every street corner. What is more, the life in the Old Town never ceases to stop. The hordes of night birds are replaced by ever excited tourists from the visiting cruisers. Mesmerizing looks on their faces are truly justifying Bernard Shaw’s famous sentence comparing Dubrovnik to paradise.
City wall walk is on a must to do list of every cruiser tourist. Do not forget to take some water with you as the heat can get the better of you. Also, remember that you can safely withdraw local currency (kunas) from ATMs and what is more you can use your card safely at POS terminals.
Finding Cheaper Airline Tickets
Posted on February 28, 2008
Have you ever noticed how some of your friends seem to get away on a lot of holidays each year? Maybe they’re just lucky, or maybe they know the secrets to finding cheap airline tickets.
Before internet usage became so common, the trick to finding the best deals on flights often involved waiting until the very last moment and then phoning a specialist flight broker.
Such brokers were often able to offer extremely competitive last minute deals, allowing you access to cheap prices. They were able to get their hands on cheap tickets because some airlines would find themselves with excess capacity and would look to brokers to fill seats.

Could the writing be on the wall for low cost airlines operating out of the UK and other European countries as the Conservative Party - once a campaigner and implementer of lower taxes - has called for purchase tax to be introduced to domestic flights?
The tax would add up to 17.5 per cent on to the cost of a flight from one British city to another, but while flights to the European mainland and popular holiday islands such as Menorca aren’t specifically mentioned, one travel company believes the new policy will inevitably lead to higher fares for flights not just within Britain, but elsewhere too.
Discover Cruising With European River Cruises

Think of a cruise and you’ll probably think of the open waves and enjoying the many benefits of a cruise ship while surrounded by nothing more than ocean on all sides. But a cruise does not always set sail on an ocean. Some of the best cruises the world has to offer are actually river cruises, and what they might lack in distance travelled they certainly make up for in sights to see.
Are River Cruises Shorter Than Normal Cruises?

With the increasing popularity of the island of Cyprus as a holiday resort, many more visitors are now finding out about the delights on offer here. Larnaca Airport is the point of entry for most tourists visiting this Mediterranean paradise.
The three largest resorts on the south side of the island are centred around Paphos, Larnaca and Ayia Napa. Paphos, on the western end of Cyprus, has its own dedicated airport. Visitors to the other two resorts, however, will often tend to arrive at Larnaca International Airport.
Touring Northern Italy

For those wanting to experience Italy without the crowds and the sometimes unbearable summer heat, a tour of the north has plenty that appeals. Let’s take a look at some must-see highlights.
The rise of budget airlines has meant that it has never been easier to find a cheap flight to northern Italy. Both Milan and Verona have busy international airports, with flights from most major European cities. Verona is served by regular flights from London Gatwick, making it a perfect starting point for any tour.
If you can’t find a suitably priced flight from Verona, then you might also consider Bologna as a feasible alternative.
